Rosanna Singer

Rosanna comes from a fitness and martial arts background and holds a first degree black belt in Shorin-Ryu Karate.  She has competed and won the Fitness America New York Pageant.   Although no longer competing in fitness or practicing martial arts, she found a pure love and passion for Yoga.  Her continued practice has helped her grow to become even stronger, more flexible and fearless, both on and off the mat.  Yoga has truly inspired her to live each moment more mindfully.

She has been practicing yoga for more than 16 years and is a graduate of the Soul Space Teacher Training Program. She is also a Registered Yoga Teacher through National Yoga Alliance. She truly believes that she will always be a student of the practice and is very deeply grateful for the loving wisdom her teachers have shared with her.

She works with everyone from children to elderly.  She likes to customize the yoga practice to suit the skill level of the class.

Power yoga is her most passionate style for her own personal practice.  She creates an energetic, vigorous and focused practice for those looking to move and breathe.  Her classes are powerful, and she loves to combine creative sequencing, a spirit of playfulness, and a dose of inspiration to help those deepen their practice and willing to learn. She thrives with challenges and will encourage growth of one’s physical self.  She believes that by focusing on breath and being fully present in the body, any athletic activity can be enhanced and supported. She seeks to help others thrive in life by challenging and nurturing the body, mind and soul with yoga. Her hope is that you step off the mat feeling energized, refreshed and balanced.

Meet Our Yogis

Jennifer Newmaker, RYT-200

Jennifer has been practicing yoga for over 15 years and has experienced first-hand the many benefits of a steady practice. The deep connection of body, mind and spirit is what inspires her teaching methods and drew her to become a 200-hour certified instructor.

The power of community and energy between her and the students is always a source of inspiration for each class.

Jennifer works as a Certified Surgical Technologist in Orthopedic Surgery. She has had the privilege of learning human anatomy from the inside out. Taking this knowledge to the mat, she instills proper alignment and the benefits of each posture incorporating this into an authentic, fun and challenging practice.

Kate, RYT-500

Kate believes in yoga and has spent the last 18 years growing as a student and as a teacher. She feels yoga is not only a way to keep fit, but a lifestyle that helps us live at our full potential. She teaches with a focus on tuning in to your own body, inviting students to listen to what they need. Students are encouraged to find and embrace their unique yoga journey. Kate works to create an environment where everyone can grow both physically and spiritually.

Carrie Lombardo, RYT-500

Carrie became a student of yoga in 2006 looking to add flexibility after years of running. For several years she was a student of hot 26.2 (not to be confused with the marathon distance 🙂 In effort to move into new yoga challenges, she signed up for hot power class which brought in yoga philosophy and teachings. Looking inward to improve her own practice, in 2019-2020 she completed her 200YTT, and in December 2023 she complete her 300 RYT, both with Matt Giordano in Thomaston, CT.

Carrie brings her profession as a physical therapist to her yoga practice and teaching with a strong anatomy base. She loves to incorporate yoga philosophy and is always learning to apply these teachings on and off the mat.

Stephanie E Jones, RYT-500

Stephanie is a RYT-500, National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC), and owner of YOUniquelyWELL. Her yoga journey began in 2014 and has become a foundational component of her life, guiding her through experiences of transition, grief, and uncertainty. The abilities to return to her mat, connect with breath, and quiet the mind through movement are grounding forces that she is passionate about sharing with others.

She believes yoga and meditation are truly transformational practices and enable an individual to connect with their inner power and strength both on and off the mat! In her classes, she places an emphasis on proper alignment, breath, and the use of props to support all bodies in finding their fullest expression. Her classes are aimed at getting students out of their heads and grounded in their bodies by pairing breath to movement. Her hope is that students leave her class feeling lighter, less stressed, and more connected to their inner power.

A big believer in bio-individuality she knows no one thing works for everyone but believes yoga can work for absolutely everybody. Having spent 15 summers in Texas, Rachel has a real appreciation for heat and humidity and is very happy to be at Core and Restore Yoga.

Amanda - RYT 200

Amanda’s yoga journey began right here at Core & Restore, where she took her first yoga class and fell in love with the supportive community and the energizing heated environment. What started as a personal practice quickly evolved into a deep passion for movement and mindfulness. Now as a 200 hour RYT, she’s honored to guide students in the very place where her love for yoga took root.

She describes her teaching style as playful and fun, with an emphasis on curiosity and exploration. Amanda’s favorite part of teaching is helping students surprise themselves—whether it’s finding strength in a pose they didn’t think was possible or stepping into something brand new. Off the mat, Amanda works as a NICU nurse, and loves running, hiking, and baking.

Meredith Inkel - RYT 200

Meredith has always loved being physically active, but it was through a consistent yoga practice that she discovered a deeper connection to her mind, body, and spirit. Amy Staskelunas, RYT-200

Amy believes that the longer you keep this practice in your life, the more you will accomplish on and off the mat and the more fulfilled you will become. In her classes, you will find an energizing power flow with opportunities to take your practice where you personally want or need to that day. She hopes her students come to their mat to find empowerment in self-love and carry that throughout their day. Amy has consistently been teaching for 3 years and continues to evolve her techniques.

Loni, RYT-200

I began my yoga journey with a random meeting of a teacher, that turned into a retreat, that turned into a whole new life.  I find inner peace in yoga no matter where I am in life and my practice has ignited new life and a fire within me that I did not know existed.  I don’t believe that I would be the person that I am today without the power of yoga and my mat.  There is something very powerful for me in taking my body to new places that I never imagined.  It is a spiritual journey for me every time I teach or practice and always, without exception I feel grateful and lighter every time I am in the studio.  I have a RYT 200 hour certification and I am currently working on my 300 hour certification.  My philosophy is that everyone should always feel welcome to practice yoga as we can all benefit from it.  My goal as a teacher is to offer encouragement to all my students and honor that it is their time and their practice.  I truly enjoy teaching mindful, restorative yoga and offering some time to slow down from life.  I look forward to seeing you on your mat!

Elizabeth Sawicki - RYT 200

Elizabeth has been practicing yoga for over 9 years and began teaching this year. Her love of yoga began by discovering the cleansing power of Bikram Yoga in Boulder, CO. Since moving back to CT, she has been a student at Core and Restore since 2023, loving how power yoga entwines strength and clarity. Passionate about breath work, Elizabeth believes in yoga‘s transformative power to heal not only the physical body, but also inner wounds, helping students find balance and inner peace through a mindful practice.

Elizabeth believes yoga is a way to reconnect with the Divine through breath, prayer, and presence. Over the years, her practice has evolved yet always returns to the same center: to live authentically, to teach from devotion, and to walk in alignment with the call to the Universe.

Elizabeth’s classes are rich with intention, offering students more than just movement—they are invitations to soften, to listen, and to return home to themselves. She honors each phase of life and believes yoga should be both accessible and sacred, meeting the body where it is while gently guiding it toward strength, clarity, and wholeness.

She approaches teaching with a sense of thoughtful playfulness by encouraging students to tune into and honor their unique needs of mind and body and to feel empowered to take actions that support their ultimate well-being.
